18/12/2007 - After a productive couple of sessions in the
studio, work continued on the song SLUMBER. It is one of
those tracks that got stuck after the main verse when eventually
the solution presented itself in a change of tempo to a
piano insert that is based in pure seventh's. Colin added
the bass track after I recorded the chorus line so that
work can progress to finishing the lyrics. Justin will then
record the lead guitar track.
Also in development is a song
with the working title A funny thing happened to me the
other day. Bass guitar and rhythm have been laid down for
the addition of hammond organ and vocals.
31/03/2007 - Colcha and Jazz together again in the studio
work on laying down track segments to 'Sometimes'. With
stability issues dealt with, the process of developing new
and existing music could continue. Another date in the studio
is set for the 21st of April where we will continue to develop
ideas and tracks for a future Purple Children release.
21/03/2007 - Over the last four days plans were set to re
master several R.M.P tracks in the studio. Work began re-installing
early versions of the software the tracks were originally
written in so that the source file could be loaded correctly.
Then the first track was chosen, working title ' Can I buy
your love with these tears'. All was going well until the
computer hard drive decided to fail causing a moment of
rage as I saw all my work slipping away!

As work goes on to trail through The Purple Children Archives,
updating them for possible inclusion in future releases, some
early demo version clips will be added. These clips were recorded
around twenty years ago on a household portable tape deck,
on very rare occasions a portastudio was used.
Further discussions as to tracks from the
past have resulted in the following possible inclusions:
1. In the Soft Light Of The Moon. Written
around twenty years ago, soft light was a song with a distinct
eastern flavour that is about carnal pleasure and the resulting
climax. Exclusively for free download here is the demo for
the intro to the new version:
In
The Soft Light Of The Moon
2. Sometimes. Written as a young boy wondering
about the other things in life and death.
3. Inside. A romantic song that has a blues
flavour to it. I wrote this whilst young and in love with
the girl that turned out to be my wife (and now celebrating
20 years of togetherness!
4. It's too late. All about regret. |

All was not entirely lost however, a new hard drive has now
been installed with all the correct software and hardware
now in place and fingers crossed now working correctly I was
able to retrieve the data!
Work can now resume on this re mastering of the tracks and
on track selection for the album.
Four tracks are currently in works for possible inclusion
on the forthcoming E. P. These currently go by the working
titles; Sometimes, Hollow, Womb Song and A Trail of Tears.
An extract of the demo version of Womb Song can be listened
