After a long break from music creation, Jazzy was introduced to the world of computer music in 2001. The appeal was instant, with the need for very little outlay or equipment Jazzy was able to start creating music again. Primarily the program of choice was the step sequencer 'Fruity Loops'. Here through simple manipulation sequences of midi data could be placed in a play list a complex track could be built, then converted to either a wav file or mp3. It was instant and creative.

Eventually this sparked back the desire to produce real world music as well in the world of The Purple Children going back to basics with real world instruments including the rare and fantastic Mellotron.
Now both live side by side, R.M.P music is electronic and very different from The Purple Children songs. Currently Jazzy is working on re-authoring a selection of tracks for a debut album. With the creation of The Purple Children's studio, Jazzy can marry the two technologies together to introduce real instrumentation into the R.M.P tracks for more flavour and weight to the music.

I would highly recommend to anyone starting into music using computers to try FL STUDIO. All the R.M.P tracks have started life on this platform and I found it incredibly easy to use. Click on the FL links from here and get 10% off! They give lifetime free upgrades as well so you never need to buy a newer version.

'The results are pleasing, It's an older track that I've added a lead line to link the sections and a vocal track which is going well. This is the first time I have written new lyrics and sung in quite a few years. So far I am pleased with it's progress'. A sample will be added soon.

22/03/2007 - Several tracks from R.M.P are available for download and streaming at mp3.com. Please head over there to listen and review/rate the tracks. All the tracks online are demo versions of tracks being considered for the debut album.

16/03/2007 - The First day in the studio was spent working on the track 'Can I buy your love with my tears?' today. Originally written in 2002 on Fruity Loops version 3, the original file had to be loaded back in the older version of the program so that all the correct instruments and settings were found. Then the song was separated into three parts, strings and piano, drums, and effects. These were added into cubase for further editing and stereo work. Currently work is underway to add a bass track to the original song which is going very well. This is the first of the tracks to undergo treatment for the album, a preview will be available later.

11/03/2007 - Work has started to select approximately 15 tracks out of a possible 30 for the debut album 'Sojourn'. Some of the possible contenders are available for free streaming and downloading at MP3.COM. I would encourage you all to head over and listen to the tracks, then write your reviews and ratings on them.
